The Beautification Committee is responsible for efforts to keep our community beautiful and recognize the local businesses who work hard to keep their slice of Chester beautiful!!! Our goal is to help make the main intersection of town (i.e. the business district) look alive and beautiful. The banners you see hanging on telephone poles through the center of town are one way we help beautify the township. The committee helps to raise money for the project and manages the banner hangings. Twice a year banners are hung that represent the seasons with vivid pictures of all that is beautiful in Chester Township. Early to mid May we hang the patriotic themed banners highlighting the parade and other Chesterland centric icons. In September/October the winter banners are displayed allowing us to embrace our Snow Belt heritage with banners that depict the beautiful side of a snow brushed Chesterland, Ohio!

We hope to expand the seasons of banners in the future but as with so many things, banners cost money! Each banner costs approximately $150 and each set of brackets are $200. We are very grateful to the business community along with several of our community based organizations helping to fund the banners thus far. The Chesterland Chamber of Commerce also reserves funds each year to help maintain the banners.

Call the office and let us know you appreciate the banners or if you see a banner in distress call to let us know! We also accept contributions. Your contributions to the Beautification Fund would help support the banners and replace worn or destroyed banners and hardware. Please help us to keep Chester Township the beautiful community that we all know that it is!!!
